Salford music festival goes online this year, for its 10th anniversary. Most people took to the digital network to maintain or rekindle the connections severed by the Corona virus lockdown or their own busy-ness. The online world was not just a means to entertain relationships, it has also been a way for the arts and entertainments industry to reach isolated people right on their sofas or anywhere they chose to be in their homes.
Whilst many network glitches have prevented swift live experiences, there have been some successful enterprises, The Salford Music Festival, now its in 10th year is certainly an example of this. The line up is a mix of seasoned veterans of the industry and new performers. The formet especially includes the Salford born and/or bred mentioned before such as Peter Hook & The Light, Graham Nash but also John Cooper Clarke, Janice Long, Ren Harvieu, K-Klass, Clint Boon, Ian McNabb, Tony Walsh, JB Barrington, Mike Garry, The Fall, Catfish and the Bottlemen and Rae Morris. Ed Blaney, the creator of Salford Music Festival., can be proud. His baby is 10 years old, has attracted great names, entertained thousands and takes its civic reponsibility very seriously. In reaction to the impact of the corona virus on the Salford community, the festival is dedicated to raising £5000 to charities such as Salford 4 Good, Salford Loaves and Fishes and Salford Lads Club.
